The second section of the Norwood Park–St–Norwood housing development, led by builder Martin Cerel, officially opened today with two new model homes on display. The first section of the community, featuring contemporary Cape‑style homes, had already sold out.

Cerel described the homes as combining “the classic qualities of the traditional Cape Cod cottage with the advantages of the well‑designed modern home.” He emphasized the compact floor plan and generous expansion space, noting that the layout offered adaptability for growing families.

Beyond the homes themselves, Cerel highlighted the appeal of the surrounding Norwood Park, which includes picnic areas, children’s playgrounds, a ballpark, and a large swimming pool. “Soon the new residents of the area will be able to take advantage of all these recreational facilities that provide a vacation‑like atmosphere for the residents year‑round,” he said.

To reach the model homes, visitors were instructed to follow Route 1A through Norwood Center to the blinking light at the junction of Route 1A and Washington Street, then bear left on Washington Street for 1½ miles past Norwood Junior High School to Norwood Park.

The development, known as Norwood Park II, marked a new phase in suburban living, blending architectural tradition with modern convenience and community‑centered design.
