Norwood Senior High School has entered the 1961-62 academic year with a record enrollment of 1250 students and a faculty of 69. Operating under a double session plan until the completion of the new addition, the school is using every available facility and resource to meet the crisis of sheer numbers of students.

Sophomore, Junior and Senior Classes are meeting during the morning session from 8 to 12. A full high school program with abbreviated periods has been planned and is operating for every student. Afternoon classes of the same type and length are in operation for the freshman class.

The programming and scheduling have been so planned that the integration of the two sessions at some future date will result in a minimum of change and confusion. All students will remain with instructions presently assigned, and each session will intermesh without the necessity of r e v i s io n of personnel or schedule.

Among teachers new to Norwood High School this year are several who were formerly on the staff of the Norwood Junior High School. Mr. Edward Shaugnessy, Mr. John Poce, Mr. Edward Sweeney, Mr. Richard Fusco, Mrs. Kathryn Paige, and Mr. George Clarite have joined the Senior High School faculty.

In addition, Mr. John Monbouquette of the Junior High School staff has been promoted to the position of Vice Principal of the High School.
