A 64-year-old Norwood man will appear In the Dedham District Court tomorrow morning at a continued hearing to answer to a charge of possessing pornographic movie film and still photos which were seized at his home last Thursday in a raid made by State and local police.

His arrest came after a conference between Sharon Police Chief Alfred Horan and Norwood Police Chief James M. Murphy. As a result of their Investigation, a search warrant was obtained at the District Court and the raid on his home followed late Thursday afternoon.

Accompanying the two chiefs were Seregant James Lyden of the Norwood police and Troopers Ernest Finan and Paul Ready of the State Police Pornography Unit of the Massachusetts Department of Public Safety.

Seized in the raid, police said, were eight 400-foot long reels of 16m.m. film and several “still photos,” all found in a basement playroom.
At a preliminary hearing last week on the day of the arrest, the case was continued until tomorrow on request of counsel. Judge William DeVitto was on the bench.

Norwood police said that they believe it is the first time in the history of the department that pornographic films were found in Norwood.
