In 1903, school district boundaries were mapped out, shaping local education, while new teachers like Alice M. Watts and Elzura A. Chandler joined the ranks. That same year, Mr. Fales gained attention as a leading contender for postmaster. Further back in the archives, local milestones included 1985’s tough decision to bench the Pop Warner football season due to low registration and soccer’s rise, the 1984 demolition of the Nahatan Street Goodyear Tire Center to pave the way for a new bank branch, and a 1978 wave of school committee recall petitions that tested town politics.
