The Norwood Adult Education Program has officially announced its comprehensive fall course schedule, set to commence on September 16 under the direction of Superintendent of Schools Dr. Philip O. Coakley.
Offering more than 30 enrichment and diploma-track courses, the program provides local residents with opportunities ranging from practical skills to high school diploma equivalency. Classes meeting on Mondays include advanced typing, automotive maintenance, beginners’ oil painting and typing, hatha yoga, and home gardening. Tuesday sessions feature advanced oil painting, beginners’ German, bookkeeping, basic accounting, contract bridge, general educational development (GED) test preparation, investments and securities, mixed volleyball, pottery, reading, and communication. Wednesday offerings cover beginners’ Italian, Spanish, child and adolescent behavior, exquisite handcrafted decorations, art appreciation, horticulture, illicit and illicit drugs, and watercolors.
Additionally, the High School Equivalency Certificate Program announced registration dates for September 11 and 12 at the senior high school, offering credit courses in general math, Spanish, chemistry, U.S. history, biology, and English, alongside GED test preparation administered by the Massachusetts Department of Education Bureau of Adult Education.
