Norfolk Donut Shoppe

7,200,000.000 donuts are eaten In this country every year. That’s over 7 billion, son! A lot of donuts.
Contributing substantially toward this Magnificent sum is the Norfolk Donut Shoppe, 1023 Washington Street, Norwood, opened March 1 by genial E. Michael Maloof, well-known to hundreds of local residents through his former connection with a well-known bakery.
Mr. Maloof sells donuts by the bag—plain 40 cents a dozen, and cinnamon and sugar, both 42 cents a dozen—and also serves coffee, and donuts, pie, and sandwiches.
An important point to remember, however, is that these aren’t just plain old donuts—they’re Downy-flake, and they’re made right on the spot by a machine that turns ’em out by the hundreds—each one just alike, each one just as delicious as the other, and they’re fresh, too, of course.
At the present time open daily from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Mr. Maloof plans to keep the place open until midnight in the near future. He also plans to serve ice cream, in cones, bulk, and in sundaes and other concoctions.
