Manager Kendrick Urges Citizens To Read Regulations

New rules and regulations on Norwood traffic will go into effect with their publication today, and rigid enforcement will begin Monday after the town has had ample time to acquaint themselves with the changes. Two major regulations have been made, including the abolition of diagonal parking and the enforcement of the one-hour parking law.

General Manager William C. Kendrick urges all citizens to read the advertisements of the new laws issued in today’s newspapers and to become familiar with them. He points out that this is the public notification required by law and that ignorance of the rules will be no excuse in the violation of the new regulations. The rules are of the utmost importance to everyone in the town who owns or drives an automobile and should be read thoroughly, he says.

The regulations were approved by the Norwood Safety Committee and the South Norwood Improvement Association last spring. They were passed by the selectmen on June 27, and by the state department of public works on July 12. Since that time the regulations have been pending proper advertisement to make them legal. At the special town meeting a few weeks ago the money for their advertisement was appropriated and the laws have been in preparation for publication since that time.
