Lt John P. Mogan, of the 13th A.A.F., son of Mrs. Nora Mogan of 85 Casey Street, is home on a three-week furlough from the South Pacific area.

Lt. Mogan received his commission and wings in February, 1943, at Randolph Field, Texas. In June of last year, he was awarded the Bronze Oak-Leaf Cluster for meritorious achievement while participating in sustained combat operational missions of a hazardous nature. In December of last year, he was awarded a silver Oak Leaf Cluster to his air medal and three bronze clusters when his plane destroyed a Japanese submarine with two direct bomb hits. Lt. Mogan, at that time, had already completed his fiftieth mission.
