Charles Santoro, president of the Norwood Pigeon Club, has responded to a letter from Lt. Colonel K, B. Lawton of the Signal Corps in Washington, asking that volunteers register their pigeons in the Office of the Chief Signal Officer of the Army at Washington.

All twenty members of the club have registered their birds and state that they stand ready at any time the War Department may need them. Many of the pigeons have already had experience in dispatching news, and also have flown more than a sufficient number of miles to be considered registrants.

Roger Flaherty, who left with last Thursday’s selective service contingent, has been assigned to Fort Knox, Kentucky, being one of a picked group of four hundred selected for special training at the Kentucky camp.
