Flight Officer Albert J Billingham, co-pilot, of Norwood, will soon complete an intensive training course in combat flying and in the near future will go overseas for combat duty.
Alexandria Army Air Field is part of the Third Air Force which
trains medium and heavy bomber crews in the United States.
Listed among the instructors here are many officers and enlisted men who have seen action in every theatre of operations.
These veterans direct crews through training conditions that simulate actual combat, stressing teamwork, formation flying and high-altitude missions.
Flight Officer Billingham graduated from the Norwood High School in 1943. He is the son of Mr and Mrs Arthur Billingham of 384 Walpole Street.
