Unanimously endorsing a veteran educator, the School Committee appointed Junior High School North vice-principal John Poce as acting principal of the school.
Administrative Appointment and Staff Reassignment
John Poce, who served as vice-principal for 13 years since the school’s founding, was unanimously appointed by the school committee on the recommendation of Superintendent James R. Savage. Poce will assume duties as acting principal until a permanent replacement is selected for Savage, who previously led the school for 13 years prior to his appointment as superintendent the preceding month.
To fill the resulting administrative vacancy, Michael Loughran, an English teacher at the school for 13 years, was appointed to serve as the new acting vice-principal.
