Cablevision and NESN Sponsor Wednesday Event at Junior High School Field for Boys and Girls Ages 10 to 15
Hometown hero Richie Hebner will join Boston Red Sox coaches Bill Fischer, Rae Slider, and an unannounced player to conduct a free youth baseball clinic next Wednesday at the junior high school field. Sponsored jointly by Cablevision of Norwood and the New England Sports Network (NESN), the clinic is open to boys and girls ages 10 to 15 and will run from 10:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Interested participants must submit a parent-signed registration form by Tuesday at Cablevision’s offices located at 375 Vanderbilt Drive, or call 769-9380 for more information.
Hebner, currently serving in his first season as the Red Sox batting coach, grew up in Norwood, played in the local Little League, and enjoyed a distinguished 17-year major league career playing for five different teams before retiring as a player in 1985.
