Fall festivities are just around the corner as the Henry O. Peabody School for Girls student representative organization gears up to host its seventh annual Harvest Fair and Flea Market.
Scheduled for next Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., the vibrant community event will take place on the school grounds (moving indoors in the event of inclement weather).
Attractions, Treats, and Festivities
Organizers have lined up a wide array of activities and food booths designed for all ages:
- Entertainment: Clowns will be on hand to amuse children while parents browse the flea market booths, which will feature wares running the gamut from antiques and toys to painted pumpkins.
- Harvest Bake Table: A seasonal spread featuring pumpkin cakes, brownies, rolls, breads, muffins, pies, turnovers, and cranberry and date nut breads.
- Food Court: A real western barbecue featuring spareribs and chicken, alongside fast-food favorites including subs, pepper steaks, meatball sandwiches, pizza, hot dogs, hamburgers, and the school’s signature homemade French fries.
- Special Attractions: Adding a pop-culture touch to the afternoon, two “Coneheads”—inspired by the hit Saturday Night Live sketch—will host a ring toss game for festival-goers.
According to school organizers, every student and teacher is participating in the collaborative effort to ensure the fair’s success. Proceeds raised from the event will fund educational and recreational student activities planned throughout the academic year.
