Early this morning, two masked men armed with a handgun targeted the Dunkin’ Donuts shop on Nahatan Street—located right next door to the Norwood police station.

According to police spokesperson Paul Bishop, a 34-year-old baker from Stoughton was working alone inside the closed shop shortly before 1 a.m. when someone knocked on the rear door. Believing a waitress had returned to retrieve a forgotten item, the baker opened the door and was immediately confronted by a man brandishing a black handgun.

The gunman and an accomplice—both wearing nylon stockings over their heads—forced the baker into an office, where they bound his hands and secured his eyes and mouth with duct tape. The robbers stole an undisclosed amount of the day’s cash receipts before fleeing. The baker managed to free himself within ten minutes and contacted the police.

Despite the shop’s close proximity to law enforcement headquarters, police noted that the building’s rear entrance is shielded from view by surrounding bushes, and investigators have not yet determined if the suspects used a getaway vehicle.

Suspect Descriptions

  • First Suspect: Approximately 6 feet tall and thin, wearing a red shirt and blue pants, and speaking with an accent.
  • Second Suspect: Approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and stocky, wearing a white long-sleeved shirt and brown pants.
