Campisano Wires Wife Of Safety

Frank J. Camplsano, 23, of 20 Monroe Street, Norwood, who escaped In the blast aboard the carrier Bennington yesterday that claimed 91 lives.

A Norwood sailor, Frank J. Campisano, 23, husband of the former Helen Mondor of 20 Monroe Street, escaped injury in the blast aboard the Aircraft Carrier Bennington, his happy family revealed last night.

A telegram to Mrs. Campisano from her husband which arrived at their home at 6 p.m. last night just said “I am fine. Do not worry. Letter to follow-

His wife said that Seaman First Class Campisano graduated from the Norwood High School in 1949, and after working at the Plymouth Rubber plant in Canton for a year, joined the Navy.

He has been a member of the crew of the Bennington for two years and is due for discharge next November. He is the father of a son. Edward J., one year old. lie is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Campisano of 42 Sturtevant Avenue.
