A Victorian Christmas with Diane Taraz
Christmas The Stories Behind the Carols We Still Sing
December 12 @ 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Clad in a hand-sewn 1850s gown and accompanying herself on guitar and dulcimer, Diane Taraz brings to life the beloved carols written or revived in the Victorian era – the age that shaped the Christmas we know. Between the verses, she traces who first sang each carol, how it was performed in its own time, and why it took root – following the thread from these early celebrations to the vibrant traditions we cherish. The program will begin at 5:00, and arrivals are welcome starting at 4:45.
