The people of South Norwood are vitally dependent upon young blood to build up the civic and social future of their locality. They believe that the courage and enthusiasm of youth is an important factor toward maintaining the moral and civic pride of its inhabitants.
Through the altruistic and progressive efforts of the South Norwood Improvement Association, Young Men’s Syrian Association, and St. George’s Lithuanian Church Benefit Associations, this locality has progressed to a marked degree and even greater things are portended for the future.
Prominent among South Norwood’s youthful and civic-minded and progressive leaders is Felix Babel, secretary of the South Norwood Improvement Association, and Fred Howard, prominent South Norwood real estate man. Both are endeavoring to bring about improvements in their district which will make that section a pleasant place in which to live.
Everyone of the various social and religious associations in South Norwood have their representatives in the Improvement Association. Many of them are young ex-college students who are interested in town government. These young people have a fine opportunity to learn the inner workings and problems of town government and give promise of ranking among the finest of Norwood’s citizens.
