A novelty in the season’s pleasures occurred at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Morrill on Wednesday evening, Feb. 4th, in the form of a Cobweb party given in honor of their daughter, Miss Emma A. Morrill. The sixteen guests were the classmates of the fifteen-times one young lady. Sixteen lines had been carefully and intricately run about the parlors and the sport began when eight boys and eight girls each took a line and followed wherever it led. The funny incidents and situations that ensued can hardly be described.
When each boy had pursued his line to the end he found a conundrum and souvenir; each girl found an answer and a souvenir. Each boy then had the honor of leading to a bountiful supper the young girl who held the answer to his conundrum. The evening was delightfully spent, the guests reluctantly taking their leave at 2 o’clock.
