Mr. Com ad has released a copy of his letter to the press and it is reprinted below.

Mr. W. C Kendrick, General Manager Town of Norwood Massachusetts

Dear Mr. Kendrick:

We understand that there is a hearing before the Board of Selectmen tonight on a proposal to construct a new highway from U. S. Highway No. 1 to the New Haven railroad track south of the Morrill Ink Plant in the Town of Norwood.

We have discussed this in a general way with you before, and should now like to make our present position absolutely clear on this matter.

We are opposed to major expenditures of any kind which would be likely to increase the tax rate of the Town of Norwood However, if the Town of Norwood has money which must be spent for purposes of unemployment relief, we strongly urge that the. projects upon which this money is to be spent be very carefully considered and the expenditure made only upon those projects which would afford the greatest benefit to the people of Norwood

This is our position in spite of the fact that we would benefit to quite a degree from such a project as the highway from L*. S I to the New Haven tracks south of the Morrill Ink Plant.
We should appreciate it very much if you would make this attitude known to the Board of Selectmen.

Yours very truly,
C W Conrad, Vice President
