Miss Bertha Cheney of Norwood and Joseph Fogan of Cambridge, who was a former Norwood resident, according to the Boston Post, will make an attempt at a rather interesting canoeing feat on the Charles River next Sunday. The attempt is made on a wager with Fred Barnes of Auburndale, who says it cannot be done.

Mr. Fegan will, with the aid of Miss Cheney, attempt to make a canoeing trip on the diaries from Nutting’s bathhouse to Harvard Bridge and return in twelve hours. It will be necessary to “carry” six times, that is the canoe will have to be taken from the water and carried overland the number of times specified.

Mr. Fegan claims that he will be able to overcome that difficulty, especially with the aid of Miss Cheney. He also claims that he will accomplish the trip in a much shorter time than specified in the wager. He hopes to do it in six hours instead of twelve. The start will be made Sunday morning if fair. The enterprise is attracting much attention in canoeing circles in Middlesex County.
