High-tech expansion is coming to Norwood, as Analog Devices, Inc.—a prominent computer equipment firm currently headquartered just across the town line in Westwood—plans to establish its new world headquarters within a newly proposed 33-acre industrial park. Spearheaded by Boston developer R.M. Bradley & Co., Inc., the project will occupy land owned by Glacier Sand & Stone Co. at the corner of Route 1, Everett Street, and Downey Streets.
Analog has agreed to lease a six-acre parcel within the park to construct a 50,000-square-foot facility dedicated to office and manufacturing operations, representing a major expansion of its existing Westwood footprint. Stephen Kasnet, vice president of R.M. Bradley, estimated that the fully completed industrial park—slated to encompass roughly 300,000 square feet of commercial buildings—would generate approximately $256,000 annually in municipal tax revenue, with $65,000 contributed directly by the Analog building. Glacier Sand & Stone owns a total 52-acre tract split between Westwood (where 19 acres are already developed) and Norwood, where the 33-acre site has long remained an undeveloped gravel pit following the stalled proposal for a shopping mall five years prior.
