Work Will Start Soon Preparing For Play Area By Next Season

Papers were passed on Tuesday of this week which give the* town of Norwood ownership of property on Wilson Street to be used for the Wilson Street playground. It is expected that some work on the property will be done immediately, getting the land in shape for the actual job of construction which will be completed by the playground season next year.

The appropriation for the purchase of the land and the improvement of the property was made at the annual town meeting last March. Twenty-four hundred dollars was named as the sum to cover the purchase of the land, the major portion of which was owned by the Housing Securities Corporation, with a small parcel in the hands of Runnenburg Hall. Approximately seven acres are included in the property. Purchase has been pending for a matter of six months while titles were being adjusted, but with the transfer on Tuesday the stage is set for the new play area for the next playground season.
