
After 46 years connection with Clark’s Pharmacy at the corner of Railroad Avenue and Washington Street. His past 33 years as its owner, Gerard Hawkins, 58, has sold the pharmacy to two Boston men and has retired from the drug business.
Mr. Hawkins, at the age of 12, went to work in the drug store for the late Fred Clark and 13 years later, bought the business, operating it until last Tuesday when papers for its sale to the new owners, Robert and Bernard Weisberg were passed.
Mr. Hawkins who lives on Warren street with his wife Delia will soon move to West Harwich, where they will take up permanent residence. They have three sons, Gerard, with the FBI, Edward, a senior salesman with the Tidewater Oil Company, and James, an Ensign in the Navy. All three sons graduated from Holy Cross College.
