
PENNANT WINNERS — Champions of the Norwood Little League Pee Wees this year are the Sharks, who had a perfect 6-0 season. The Sharks closed out an undefeated season last Thursday night at Prescott Field by defeating the Seals, 14-4, to win the championship of the Norwood Pee Wee division of the Norwood Little League, made up of all eight-year-old players.
The Sharks had a season record of six wins against no defeats. Pacing the Sharks’ attack in the final game were Gregory Walker and Tommy Martin, with two hits each, and Dennis McNamee, Johnny Reynolds, Dick McInnis with one hit apiece. Dennis McNamee started on the mound for the Sharks and was relieved in the second inning by Johnny Reynolds. Tommy Martin took over in the third inning and went the rest of the way without allowing a hit.
Heavy hitters on the championship team this season were Dennis McNamee, who had a whopping .666 average; Johnny Reynolds, whose season’s average was .545; Greg Walker, who batted at a .538 clip, and Tommy Martin,
