Edward Bosco, representing Norwood Sport Center, became the first local man to win the Southeast Massachusetts “King of the Hill” candlepin show last Sunday night when he dethroned Albert Pick, Brockton, at Timber Lanes, Abington.

Bosco, who will bowl for the Norwood Sport Center next season in the big league of bowling, the Middlesex Bowling League, never left any doubt about the final outcome when he smashed his way to victory 356 to 321.

Pick, who gained the top spot the previous week by defeating Walter Jenkins of Scituate hit a strong triple but the new king was a front-runner all the way. Weymouth Landing is the scene of the next SEMBA.

Show with the final taking place on Saturday and the title defense on Sunday

Norwood now boasts the champions in both the men’s and women’s events. Doris Reardon rules the girls and Edward Boscc is the one the men must overcome. Both will have tough fights to stay on top but each has an excellent candlepin background to hold off the opposition for a few weeks.
