
After four years of overseas service, First Sgt. Leonard J Masino was able this year to spend the first Christmas during that tune with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Michael Masino of 10 Park street.
The long-awaited family reunion was not complete, however, because Leonard’s sister, Miss Arlene Masino, art supervisor of the East Hampton Public Schools, was rushed to the Norwood Hospital for an emergency appendectomy on Christmas eve.
Sgt. Masino at 22 years is a seasoned veteran of this war. He volunteered in the regular army four years ago and was stationed at Pearl Harbor at the time of the Japanese attack. Since then he has fought at various fronts, including those of the South Pacific Theatre. He is now stationed at Camp Edwards, where he will return after his furlough.
