The genial Callahan Brothers, James and Daniel, of Callahan’s Norwood Furniture Company, were among the three top award winners for the most outstanding window display In all New England.
The contest, sponsored by the Serta-White Cross Mattress Company of Cambridge, Massachusetts, drew entries from hundreds of furniture dealers. It was part of a national campaign by Sorta to stimulate interest in the Serta Perfect Sleeper mattress to build brand recognition and Increase store traffic.
Photographs of the competing displays were judged by Philip Nutting, President of the Advertising Club of Boston; Julius Teich, President of Superior Displays and Lee LeBlanc, Art Director of Arnold & Co., Boston advertising agency.
These experts chose the Callahan’s Norwood Furniture Store’s display of the Serta Perfect Sleeper mattress for top honors on the basis of its originality, attractiveness and effectiveness.
