The Norwood firm of Korslund, LeNormand & Quann has been appointed as architect for both the additions to the Balch and Cleveland schools.

The firm, which designed the original Cleveland School, is drawing up plans there for eight additional classrooms, a conference room, auxiliary storage, and additional toilets.

Plans at the Balch, which include a cafetorium, will be further defined at a meeting Thursday with the building committee headed by John A. Abdallah. The addition will be built on the north side, squaring off the present building.

Appointment of the Norwood architectural firm for the Balch addition was by unanimous vote of the building committee at a meeting last Thursday night at the Municipal Building. The Cleveland Addition committee, headed by Ernest Paciorkowskl, selected the Norwood firm to draw up plans at its meeting the week before.

Korslund, LeNormand & Quann, which recently was picked as the architect for the new Brockton Regional Vocational School, also currently has plans on the drawing boards for an upper elementary school in Medfield and an elementary school in Saugus. In addition to these, schools designed by the firm and currently under construction include the new Beverly High School, an addition to Arlington High School, Shrewsbury Junior High School, a 25-room elementary school In Franklin, and the Greater Lawrence Regional Vocational School.
