Miss Joan Parker is scheduled to join the Tarquins as the featured female vocalist at the regular Monday evening teen dance parties at Roll-Land, Route 1 in Norwood.
Her first appearance is set for Monday, Aug. 10 and she will share the vocals with David and Paul Hochanadel.
The Tarquins have been holding forth at Roll-Land since the teen series began and have built up a large local following. They feature the big band sound with Dedham’s Ron Malin at the organ, Paul and David Hochanadel of Westwood on electric guitars, and popular Tom Finn of Dedham on drums.
A series of dance contests is being run with the winner each Monday receiving free tickets for the next week’s dance and advancing to the finals, to be held Aug. 31. Winners of the finals will be awarded trophies.
Winners of weekly contests so far have been from Dedham, Norwood, Walpole and Westwood.
