Will Be largely Represented by Prominent Citizens, Headed by Our Popular Band.

Cyprus Commandery, No. 39, Hyde Park, comprises two hundred of Norfolk County’s citizens, says the Boston Traveler. They will turn out on the day of the parade in goodly numbers, and as frequent drills have been held, they have become proficient in Masonic tactics.

During conclave week Cyprus Commandery will keep open house at the Puritan Club rooms, Knickerbocker Building, Tremont Street, and on one day they will take their guests out to Hyde Park.

In the centre of the building a beautiful large gold and white banner, with the picture of the late General Joseph Warren in the centre, is hung, on the two corners two large red and white panels are also suspended. The coat of arms and the badge of the commandery are on the top of the building. The interior of their rooms will be also decorated.

Across the street is the Curtis Building, which is also handsomely decorated with the national and triennial colors. The building will have some fine banners placed on it. The mayor’s father, George Curtis, an ex-commander of Joseph Warren Commandery, is the owner of this building.
In the parade they will carry their commandery banner, which contains the representation of the island of Cyprus, together with the United States flag and Templar beauseant.

The eminent commander of Cyprus Commandery is George Miles. He was born in Stow, Mass., April 7, 1842, where he was educated in the public schools. In 1801, when 19 years of age, he went to the front under General McClellan’s command, and was at the battles of Antietam, South Mountain Fredericksburg, Gettysbug, Fort Fisher, and elsewhere, remaining in active service throughout the rebellion.

At the close of the war he at once engaged in business at Boston, and afterwards removed to Hyde Park, where he has been located in the grocery trade for many years, and always successfully. He is prominent in Baptist Church circles, the Royal Arcanum, Knights of Honor, Red Men, has served as selectmen for two years, and been president of the Hyde Park Co-operative Bank for several years, is high up in Masonry, having attained the 32d degree.

It is understood that three past eminent commanders, Sir Melville P. Morrell, Sir George T. Lang, and Sir Henry N. Bates, will appear mounted in connection with the grand commander.

The members from Norwood and East Walpole will be in the fourth division, headed by the Norwood Brass Band. They will assemble at Hyde Park at 7 o’clock next Tuesday morning and have their pictures taken in a group and then board a special electric car for Boston. The following are among the number from the Norwood contingent:
