Now that Norwood is in the heyday of prosperity is a good time for the forehanded man to buy a little land and lay the foundations of a home here. In this connection it may be stated that in this wot Id it holds true that if you can’t in all cases get what you want you must take what you can get.
If you can’t afford to live on Beacon Hill it is quite possible to behave in a human and a Christian manner elsewhere.
The development of the town of Norwood, between Winslow’s station and the Winslow Morse place, has come a little slowly, but is coming very surely.
Much of the land is flat, but much of this flat land is very dry and is suitable for pretty and comfortable homes for the everyday people—that is for most of us. The region between East Walpole and Norwood is highly praised for its beauty by the many people who travel through it on the trolley cars at this season.
Norwood is slowly getting back from Southport and elsewhere, and the streets will soon be again alive with school children. So the seasons come and go, but the Advertiser remains the stanch old friend of everybody that it has been for the past sixteen years or so.
A scarcity of tenements and a brisk demand for tenements and rooms of all kinds. This is the real-estate situation in Norwood, and indicates that the town is in a very lively condition.
The town seems to stand in need of more good tenements which can be rented for moderate prices, that is for prices which people will pay and pay regularly. A growing town is always full of home seekers, and the public-spirited builder of good homes for the people will find this a good town in which to invest his money.
A little more of the same spirit is needed in the people of Norwood. The town is attractive, has business, and everything prophesies a prosperous future for the place. Every citizen should emphasize the advantages of the town, letting any disadvantages take care of themselves. “Boom Norwood” would be a good motto for all our people. Talk up the town and her interests. Speak a good word whenever possible. Push the town in every way possible, and you will be rewarded by the continued growth.
