Four Norwood men have been assigned to D Company, 4th Training Regiment, at Fort Dix, N. J., for eight weeks of Infantry basic training in conjunction with the 1955 Reserve Forces Act.

The Norwood group Includes:

Pvt. Vito Puopolo, son of Mrs. Maria Puopolo, 23 West street,

Pvt. Richard D. Surette, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. J Surette, 54 Hill Street,

Pvt John P Ceiri, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Ceiri, 811 Neponset Street,

Pvt Francis X Carchedi, son of Mr and Mrs. Frank Carchedi, 22 Lenox Avenue.

During their training they will receive instruction In general military subjects, Infantry weapons and tactics, as well as character guidance programs under the post chaplain.

Under the RFA program they will serve on active duty for six months and then be transferred to hometown duty with an Army Reserve or National Guard unit.

After the initial eight weeks, they will receive a two-week Jeav# and then enter eight weeks of advanced Infantry training, be enrolled in one of the special schools here, or be transferred to another Army post for training.
