
Although one of Norwoods newest furnishing and gift shops, The Decorator, 522 Washington Street, Norwood, has created a minor sensation among those who appreciate good taste and quality in their homes.
The Decorator is owned and maintained by Edward J. Eppich, a recently discharged veteran of the Naval Air Corps.
Although in his early twenties. Mr. Eppich has a good background in designing, drafting, and cabinetwork. and has a great love for working with wood.
Highlight of the establishment is the display room with its curved, draped wall and indirectly lighted, tufted ceiling.
The Decorator keeps a fine collection of antiques of all periods— also a series of “Early Americana.” a collection of reproductions of old boxes, cobbler’s benches, rum tables, etc., beautifully finished in knotty and antique pine or mellow maple. These items are made to order in the Decorator’s own shop.
Rare old pieces of china in Limoges. Haviland, English Bone, Wedgewood, and other items of milk glass, cranberry, hobnail, and majolica arc displayed in an unusual wall case.
Antiques of your description may be ordered by you at a price you’d like to pay, and Mr. Eppich will get them if at all possible.
Perhaps you have an old chest or chair that needs rebuilding or refinishing—it can be done at The Decorator at a very nominal cost.
Unusual enameled, lacquered two-toned and novelty wood finishes may be had on custom-crafted items.
Pickup and delivery, estimates, plans, and perspective sketches are all part of the free cheerful service given to customers.
Perhaps you have the nucleus of a fine, distinctive piece of furniture lying around useless — Mr. Eppich will design and build something useful and decorative from it.

The Decorator is open Friday evenings until 9 p.m.
