PAIR OF PUGS—These two Pug puppies oblige the cameraman on the dock following a 19-day ocean crossing from England, The dogs are now at their new home in Norwood.

Two new Pug puppies shipped to this country by Mr. W. O. Pearce, the well-known Falmouth, England, dog fancier, through Spratt’s Dog Food Company of London, England, for the Saint Maur’s Pug Kennels of Norwood, have arrived via the steamship Melbourne after a 19-day passage out of London to New York.

The two puppies are to be used in furthering the Pug breed in the Norwood kennels, the oldest kennels in New England breeding Pugs Saint Maur’s have, from time to time, imported well-known English kennel stock for their kennels, some of which were the Champion Cadmus of Emarel, Champion Duke of Cornwall, and other well-known Pugs.

The two new arrivals are from the famous Goldengleam Kennels of West Hove, Essex. England, owned by Mrs. Wendy Allen, whose Pugs have been having wonderful success in the English show rings since the dog shows have been resumed in the British Isles. Mrs. Allen, along with Mr W O. Pearce, have selected the two puppies for their fine apricot coat of the Morrison strain, fine black masks, will set up bodies and double curtails. Their great grandsire was the famous Thundercloud of Swaintun one of the outstanding Pugs of the British show ring. Their five generations of pedigree show no Iess than 11 champions.

This month, the Pug dog show will be held in London, and the Saint Maur’s representative will be at this show to pick out any outstanding Pugs for shipment to this country The Saint Maur’s kennels intend to continue to import the best bloodlines that arc obtainable to further their present kennel stock for breeding purposes. Their dogs will be shown during the summer season at all the local shows, by their owners Mr. and Mrs. James W. Watts.
