The Planning Board members were shown plans of the proposed medical building at Winter and Walpole Streets at their meeting Monday night by George Wilcox of the architectural firm of Marshall Erdman Associates, Inc.
Attorney Charles L. Donahue, representing the doctors, stated his clients would like to show their present plans to the Planning Board and give their reasons for the changes.
Atty. Donahue introduced Mr. Wilcox who showed the plans. He said that due to the considerable drop in grade on the property, they felt their design would be proper for the location. Wilcox said there was a drop of 14 feet and that the three-section building would better fit the land.
Wilcox said the 3-unit building would be larger than the previously presented plan and would cover just over 20,000 square feet. He said there were suites for about 13 doctors, and that there could be room for a maximum of 20 doctors.
Wilcox said the entire building would be built of brick and wood and that the only metal construction would be the door hinges and knobs and similar components. (Earlier plans had specified aluminum siding.) He said the flat roof construction would consist of a white marble chip arrangement and that the height would be 22 feet at the highest point and 18 feet in other areas.
The Planning Board members thanked Atty. Donahue and Doctors Kenney and Bero for their information concerning the project.
