Percy H. LeGay. Jr., M.M. 1/C U.S.N.R., husband of Helena C. LeGay of 428 Prospect street, has been reported missing following action while in the service of his country. His ship, the U.S.S. Johnston. a destroyer, was lost during the battle for the Philippines.

He enlisted in the Navy in January. 1942, and received his basic training at Newport. R. I. From there he was sent to study at Wentworth Institute in Boston and upon graduating as an honor member of his class he was sent to New York for further training. Immediately after this he was transferred to the West Coast and was assigned to the U.S.S. Johnston which had not then been commissioned.

M.M. 1/C LcGay’s parents live in Walpole, and he is a graduate of Walpole High School Class of ’36. His younger brother, Kenneth I. LeGay, S. 1/C, was reported missing in action in January, 1944. Another brother. Malcolm, of the U. S. Army, is stationed at present in New York.

M.M. 1/C LeGay was married on September 2, 1939, at St. Catherine’s Church to the former Helen Walsh, and is the father of a four-year-old daughter, Evelyn.
