CHARLES P. SHATTUCK.

Charles P. Shattuck, father of Edmund Shattuck, of the Morrill Ink Co., died Monday, August 3. at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Fred Boyden. His death was not unexpected, as he had been in feeble health for some years. He was in his 71st year. Mr. Shattuck came to Norwood some 25 or 30 years ago from Vermont, where he was an engineer on the Vermont Central for many years. He was employed on the N. V. X- N. E. road for some years in the same capacity. His estimable wife died very soon after his removal here. Mr. Shattuck was a man of a most kindly and genial nature, although his failing health had prevented him from mingling with others in the later years of his life as much as his naturally social spirit would prompt. He leaves a son and a daughter, both living in Norwood. His second son, Charles, formerly of California, who married a daughter of Elijah Wheelock, and whose sudden and untimely death is still mourned by numerous friends, preceded his father by nearly a year. The funeral services took place on Wednesday from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Boyden, Rev. Mr. Weeden, of the Congregational Church, conducting.—Dedham Transcript.
