The year 1984 finally saw the opening of the new Civic Center.
On Saturday, September 22nd 1984 the Center was officially opened to the general public with a ribbon cutting ceremony, Open House and also a visit from ex-Governor King and Gregory Sullivan, our Representative, who were so very instrumental in the Town acquiring the Armory from the State of Massachusetts.
After many years of moving around and the uncertainty, it was a great relief to the Staff after the long wait to get into our new permanent home. The Town has provided its people the best and most modern facility, and the department is eager to provide the Town with the best possible activities.
