Was Bombardier With Chennault Flying Forces

Word that Lt. Donald Griffiths was missing in action came to his father, William F. Griffiths, Elm Street, on Wednesday afternoon. The War Department telegram said only that Lt. Griffith a bombardier, was missing as of August 24th.

Lt. Griffith’s, a second lieutenant in the Air Force, left for overseas only a few months ago. He had not been at his destination more than a week or so. He was with Major General Chennault’s air forces in China.

Mr. Griffiths had received a letter from his son the day before, the telegram arrived. His other boy, Kenneth Griffiths, is with a field artillery unit in Sicily. He is a technician in communications.
