Norwood Boys At Boot Camp

Edmund Leonard Johnson, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund L. Johnson of 105 Rock Street, Norwood, and George Joseph Flynn, son of Mrs. Lea 0. Flynn of 40 Third Street, recently enlisted in the U. S. Navy and are presently undergoing Recruit Training at Bainbridge, Maryland, the local Navy Recruiting Station.

Edmund graduated from Norwood Senior High School in 1954 and was employed by the Raytheon Manufacturing Co., prior to enlisting in the Navy.

George attended Norwood High School and indicated he was interested in learning a trade while in the Navy.

Upon completion of the nine weeks basic training, they will receive fourteen days leave before reporting to their next duty stations.

Airman Chitty In Mississippi

Airman Third Class Gordon W. Chitty, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Chitty of, 156 Walnut avenue, who enlisted in the Air Force on August 31, is now stationed at Biloxi, Mississippi. He was assigned to the air force field there after completing his 12 weeks of basic training at Sampson, N Y. He is taking a training course in electronics.

A graduate of the Norwood high school, Airman Chitty, was an assistant manager for the McLellan stores before entering the service.
