George Bailey Starts Basic Naval Training
George A. Bailey, Jr. of Walnut Avenue was called to the Newport Naval Training Station In Newport, ILL. on Tuesday last. He is the son of George and Kathleen Bailey and left at 8 o’clock from the Post Office Building with some 50 or 75 other recruits from Boston and surrounding towns.
Since his graduation from Norwood High School. George has been employed at the Super Market In Norwood, The National Fireworks Co. in West Hanover, and Bird & Son in East Walpole. He was married last Sunday to Miss Lillian Conrad of Walnut Avenue, at St. Catherine’s Church by Monsignor Joseph A. Walsh.
