Eysie’s Super Market of 1237 Washington Street, one of Norwood’s oldest business establishments, celebrates its 40th anniversary with a 10-day sale beginning today.
The original Market was a humble little store at the corner of Washington St. and Concord Ave. The late Joseph Eysie started a business in 1916 which was to survive and prosper through the good and bad times that have since followed.
Five years ago, his youthful and ambitious sons, Roger and George, undertook to build Norwood’s largest independent supermarket at a local location only a few feet away from the original store.
While the store is large and successful, the Eysie Brothers have maintained the friendly atmosphere and courteous service which is in the best tradition of the Eysie family.
To celebrate this noteworthy occasion, Eysie’s has slashed prices on scores of items. For example, a 10-lb. bag of sugar will be only 93c during the sale. Other bargains can be found In the Eysie full-page advertisement.
Twenty-four giant food baskets will be given a wav free to lucky customers. In addition, there will be free coffee and doughnuts for all.
The children aren’t being overlooked. They can enjoy carousel rides free of charge.
Shopping is a pleasure at Eysie’s. The store is neat and roomy and there is ample parking space. Free delivery sendee is available if you can’t get to the store. Evsie’s is open from 9 am. to 9 pm.
