Completes USMC Boot Training
Marine Pvt. John J. McMorrow, son of Mr. and Mrs. John J. McMorrow of 32 High Street, Norwood, has completed recruit training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, SC.
His 12-week training course included bayonet instruction, physical conditioning, parades and ceremonies, and other military subjects.
Three weeks were spent firing the M-1 rifle and studying other basic infantry weapons.
He is scheduled to report to Camp Lejeune, N.C., for combat infantry training and then will receive specialized instruction at a service school or be assigned to a unit of the Fleet Marine Force.
