Sgt. Witold J. Juskiewicz, Jr., 27-year-oId Norwood Infantry soldier who battled through Germany with Patton’s Third Army, was killed in a motor vehicle accident in Germany on September 18th, according to a telegram received from the War Department Wednesday by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Witold J. Juskiewicz, of 54 Hillside avenue.


Sgt. Juskiewicz is reported to have met death in a truck mishap which occurred during reconnaissance convoy duty outside of Camp Schwandorf, Germany. No further details were available.


A veteran of nearly four years of service in the U. S. Army, Sgt. Juskiewicz had been overseas since last September, serving with the 915th Field Artillery of the Third Army. He held three battle stars arid the Infantryman’s Combat Badge.


He received his training at Camp Croft, S. C.; Fort Knox, Ky., and Camp Polk, La.


Sgt. Juskiewicz was born in Lowell and attended schools in Norwood. Previous to entering the service, he was employed at Winslow Brothers & Smith.
Besides his parents, Sgt. Juskiewicz leaves a sister, Stella, who is employed at Winslow Brothers, and a brother, Andrew, who is a student at the Norwood Junior High
