The new Acapella Choir at Norwood Senior High School made its debut at the School Assembly on Monday, February 11. The 45-member chorus is directed by John B. Faucett, music instructor at Norwood High School.
The chorus, which was organized early in the school year, presented a four-part rendition of the beautiful ‘‘Onward, Ye Peoples” by Jean Sibelius. Richard Cornell served as accompanist for the group. Students assisting in the management of the chorus are Richard Maloof, Geoffrey Nash, and Stephen Hemmen.
The group is now preparing a repertoire for presentation at the joint Spring Concert with the newly organized Concert Band.
The following NHS students are members of the chorus: Mary Anne Paul, Kathleen Donahue, Mary Hucksam, Joan Connolly, Marilyn Early, Carol Moreau, LaVerne Hassis, Marcia Sparrow, Karen Clark, Catherine Crawford, Elaine Bloom, Janet Gordon, Arlene Black, Roberta Benham, Mary Grazado, and Joan Deasy.
Also, Susan Schofield, Louise Chapman, C h e r y Bremer, Anne Drew, Martha Black, Elizabeth Anderson, Nancy Donovan, Susan Stevens, Donna Daley, Cheryl Syverson, Jennifer Nash, Marie Johnson, Kathleen Gordon, Perry-Lynn Mofflitt, Shirley Anne Jewell, Nancy Breen, and Patricia Greene.
Also, Elaine Wennberg, Phyllis Solomon, Virginia Harvey, John DeBenedictus, Richard Susi, Anthony Troilo, Steven Bowen, Dennis McMahon, John Howard, Harold Rubin, Roger Ferris, and Alan Zimlicki.
