MASONS IN CHARGE.
NORWOOD, Sept 29—The funeral of Warren Ellis Rhoads, court officer of the District Court of Northern Norfolk, took piece this afternoon at the First Universalist Church, in charge of Orient Lodge, A. F. and A. M., of which he was tyler 46 years.
Orient Lodge, A. F. and A. M.; Tiot Lodge of Odd Fellows, Loyal Contentment Lodge of Manchester Unity, Norwood Lodge of Elks and Nahatan Tribe of Red Men attended by organizations.
Mr Rhoads was chief of police of Norwood from 1896 to 1907 and police officers were present from other towns to the number of 29, marching to the church in uniform, headed by Acting Chief Walter A. Readel.
The officiating clergymen were Rev Arthur Howe Pingree, pastor of the Congregational Church and chaplain of Orient Lodge, and Rev George A. Miller. pastor of the Universalist Church and associate chaplain of the lodge. The burial service was performed by WM David A. Ellis, Chaplain Pingree and the officers of Orient Lodge.
The bearers were George E. Stewart, H. T. Walker, John G. Hollingsworth, George Morse, Charles H. Morse and Warren C. Cuttrell. Burial was In Highland Cemetery.
