EVELYN M. CONROY

Another Norwood girl, Miss Evelyn Mary Conroy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Conroy of 14 Cross street, was recently sworn into the service of her country in the WAVES.

Miss Conroy joins her brother in the naval service. Sic John F. Conroy is a naval gunner now on active duty with the fleet.

A graduate of the Norwood Senior High School, the new WAVE was active as a member of the Quest Club of that institution. After graduation she accepted a position as a clerical worker with the Bird Machine Company of South Walpole.

Apprentice Seaman Conroy leaves for training at a WAVE boot camp after which she will become eligible to enter one of the many Navy specialized training courses.

Miss Conroy enlisted through the Brockton Navy Recruiting Station.
