In Hospital At New Caledonia

Mr. Edgar and Mrs. Margaret Webber of 905 Washington street, Norwood, have had word that their son, Pfc. Russell H. Webber, a fleet Marine, was wounded in the Palau invasion and is now in hospital in New Caledonia. A letter from their son tells them he is coming along O.K.

Russell is one of five Webber boys in the services. T/Sgt. Edgar F. Webber, who was wounded in the Italian theater some time ago, was home on a furlough last week. He returned to the States in August and is now stationed in Tennessee. An aerial engineer and gunner with a B-24 heavy bomber group, he completed fifty missions in the African and Italian theaters, and wears the Air Medal with several Oak Leaf Clusters and is also entitled to wear the Distinguished Unit Citation ribbon.

Sgt. Preston J. Webber, with the amphibious engineers, is in New Guinea. He entered the service with the first group from Norwood in 1941.

Sgt. Horace Webber is with the infantry and is believed in Germany now. He is presumed with the Patton forces.

Pvt. Kenneth Webber is at present stationed in this country at the Naval Ammunition Depot, Crane Island, Indiana.
