NORWOOD March 17 — More than 700 Irish residents of this community attended the annual St Patrick’s Day observance tonight at the State Armory here.

Msgr. Jeremiah F. Minihan, pastor of St. Catherine’s Church, was the chief speaker. Others were Michael Flynn, Irish vice consul of Boston; Chester A. Nolan, clerk of the Massachusetts Supreme Court, and Selectman Harry Butters.

A highlight was the appearance of an old Irish jaunting car. Several of the invited guests were driven around the armory in it. Music for dancing was provided by the Galway Band of Boston. Attorney Thomas Foley of Norwood was master of ceremonies.
