Takes Over His Duties as Postmaster

Thomas B. Mulvehill of 23 Cottage st took over duties as Postmaster this morning, in ceremonies at the new Post office building. He was appointed several weeks ago by Postmaster General Farley and was waiting only for confirmation by President Roosevelt, which came last week. He is a former Selectman for 12 years and a former Representative from this district.

For several months he has been chairman of the N. R. A. Board here, and has always taken an active part in Democratic affairs in this section.

He is a former exalted ruler of Norwood Lodge of Elks, a past president of the Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Knights of Columbus and of the Norwood Historical Society.

Peter J. Feeney, chairman of the Board of Selectmen, welcomed Mr Mulvehill to his new office, and the keys of the new $200,000 Post office building, recently dedicated, were turned over to him by the Acting Postmaster, Miss Anna Ellis, who now resumes her former position as Assistant Postmaster. Town officials, businessmen, personal friends and postal officials of surrounding communities attended the ceremony.
